This is going to be oh so cool. It will be a very good feeling to know, that somewhere in the back of your mind, if something does happen while you are out on the open road, you just might be able to fix it long enough to get to a shop. Hell, you might even be able to fix it for GOOD! Congrats.
Thanks, Wade! I am so excited. I am worried that I am going to be way, way out of my league, so am studying like a maniac already. I know NOTHING.
I learned about fixing cars under a completely different set of circumstances. In college, I had an old beater that my grandparents bought me after my car gave up. At the time, I was working to help my parents pay my way through school. It was hard, but it was worth it. Having a car was a luxury and school could be attended without one, so when it broke down, which it did a lot, it was either fix it yourself, or walk. So, as seems to be my lot in life, I would jump in with both feet, take it apart, find the broken part, get a new one and then put it back together. It really isn’t as hard as it seems, but I imagine what they teach in classes now have a lot more technical difficulty than what I am used to working on… Good luck girl.
I’ll admit, I was a bit intimidated when you said, “Oh, we were able to fix most of the problems with the RV ourselves” since I was completely confused when you discussed the repair!
I’ve never had ANY mechanical aptitude, so we’ll see how this goes….
