PPL Motorhomes

I am headed to Houston today to test drive some diesel pushers!  I hope to eventually buy something in the 35 ft range, so was happy to see they’ve recently added a 1995 36 ft Foretravel to their inventory.

I promise not to buy anything, yet.

I will post an update after I get back.

Wish me luck!

Foretravel has a good reputation, and that is a good looking coach. I see you are focusing on diesels with HSPR over 300, that’s good. Those Cummins 275 hspr motors are underpowered for the weight. The 360 will give you plenty of power. When you get closer to a decision I would recommend having the engine oil, coolant, and transmission fluids analysed. There are labs that will do this for very little cost. They can tell whether something is going wrong with the engine, tranny, or cooling system by analysing the fluids. Same for the generator.

Barbie always travels in style! And Jennifer you deserve no less! Best of luck on finding “the one”!! It took us a couple of years to find the right RV for us. When you see it, you’ll just know it! :) Happy searching!

I had to laugh at your picture, I had that motorhome!!!
Funny tho, the barbie’s could never stand up in it because they were too tall. Made me wonder why people would buy a motorhome if they could not stand up in it.
    LOL!!

    Thanks for the memory!

Dear Clarke – Thanks for the feedback and guidance on the fluid analysis. I was worried that I liked the Winnebago Journey after what you said about 275 HP being underpowered. (Of course, I’ve only ever driven a 4-cylinder economy car, so my perspective might be skewed!)

Dear Angie and Karyn – I’m glad the girls liked the Barbie Star Traveler! I loved that picture. I looked at the one you recommended, Angie. It was a nice unit.

Dear Wade – I got your comment about the weather as I was totally deflated and leaving PPL! It made me feel less bad for wimping out.

I had completely forgot the Barbie had a motorhome! How funny. I think that this could qualify as an unique RV.

Dear Unique RVs – I’ve wondered why Barbie doesn’t get an RV in the modern era. I guess it was just cooler in the 70s than today!

BTW – I checked out your site. Cute and funny videos!

I wouldn’t have driven mine in weather like that. There is just no reason for it. That and I currently have no windshield wipers. :0)

Dear Wade – I think I remember you had a no-windshield wiper adventure through a San Antonio rain storm?
