I mentioned it to my husband and brother, but they think the house looks too dilapidated (sp?) and that I should do it. With regard to my agent's opinion, I decided to wait until I finished more of the front to get her feedback, so no word yet. (I want her to see a dramatic improvement! ;) Dear GypsySoul, Thank you! All the rage here, and I love it on older "vintage" homes...plus it's really forever...even just plain ole uncoated "tin" lasts and lasts. OR...Maybe speak to your Realtor about a "negotiable roof"....full price offer and you'll throw in a new roof (within reason...not a fancy schmanzy one)...because what if they wanna go UP or do a tear-down? You just blew the $2-3000....and in this current market (even in "hot" places like Austin) you're gonna have to come off the selling price anyway. Just thoughts...
