Although Im not directly dealing with it, I have a friend who is bi-polar. She is constantly switching medications to find "the right one". She is a really nice person and one of my closest "people".

Take care

You like 'toons?

Sometimes I feel like this guy:

Sometimes I feel like one of these guys:

But mostly I feel like I'm caught up in a continual attitude check:

How 'bout you?

Jennifer, your candor is refreshing. As I have said many times before, the number of comments you generate on each post is a tribute to your communication skill, and your ability to draw people out who would normally never leave a comment. The comment section activity shows your strong connection to your readers, as well as their desire to connect with you, and that is a rare quality.

Happy Monday Jennifer!

To answer your question right off the bat in regards to:

"When I created this blog, I thought my biography on the About Me page would narrow any readership to people who were whacked in the brain like me. I am not sure how many of you are!"

I am not one of the whacked ones, although I know many who are. As I stated before, my previous career involved working with patients who had minor to severe brain illness and/or injury. I am very familiar with Bipolar disorder. To top that off I have family members and close friends who suffer from different levels of mental illness as well. As you have figured out, they all eventually learned how to live with it. With a mixture of therapy, medication, proper sleep/exercise, and a healthy diet anyone can learn to cope with mental illness.

You are definitely not alone. The Bipolar disorder affects 5.7 million adult Americans. Having said that, I am not a "statistics" kinda gal
because I find their accuracy is way off most times. The number quoted above is too low. There are way were cases in Americans (both adults and children). And we are only talking about Bipolar disorder here. There are hundreds of thousands of other mental illnesses out there that people all over the world suffer from on a daily basis. Most of those people will never reach out and get the help they need. Some simply cannot afford to get the help they need.

So good for you for coming a long way with learning how to live with your diagnosis. May you find the strength to remain strong and confident.

I may not be one of your "whacked in the brain" readers, but I do enjoy following your blog. :)

Best wishes to you when meeting with your real estate agent tomorrow. I'm sure all will go well.

Jen,
The other decisions you have agonized over, the house, the RV, the tools, are rather mundane things of life. You have faced the big things in life and are winning the battle.

I started reading your blog because I loved your writing and your word usage, so I glad you found Lamictal.

Keep taking it and stay on this side, we all want you to win, so we can go on your big adventure with you.
James
