Look what I got

I’ve made some changes to my plans, but I am still taking my trip. I’ll post an update soon.

I found this when it listed on Thursday. Drove to test drive it Friday. Made an offer that was refused. Got a call after I left that they would take it.  Got my financing approved today.

I’m really excited about my new RV!

Having found this blog recently, I started at your first post and read about your planned journey with great interest. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do myself, but never had the “nerve”. I spent a whole evening and well into the night reading about your planned adventure and life’s challenges. Your writing style kept me riveted. When I finally got to the last few updates, I was glad that your life seemed to be on track, but disappointed as well, because it appeared that your travel plans and this blog had fizzled out. Now, to read this update is just amazing! I’m looking forward to reading about your new home-on-wheels, and the adventure that it will bring you! Congrats!

I don’t know a thing about the history of that one, but it looks pretty cool. What is the floor plan? I like the looks of the 4230:

Big wardrobe, big pantry, and a couch to sleep company. Is that the one?

Got any inside pics? Does the 2006 have the V6?

Anyone throwing bags of money at your house?

    Bob, suitably impressed.

This was a very pleasant post to read this morning. I am very happy for you finally scoring. You will find that you will love this unit the more you use it. I do with mine. Good too that it is a 2006 model. It is utter simplicity compared to subsequent years which became more cluttered with more features. Being an ‘06 it probably has the inline 5 cylinder engine, no? This is good and will get a bit better mileage. Do see if the turbo resonator has been upgraded. The orginal is nortorious for blowing out. Enjoy many happy miles of adventure.

She’s a beauty! I just found this blog, too, and am new to RVing world. I’m a writer and photographer and will be moving to part-time work this fall for a working retirement of sorts. Bought a lovely 1999 Class B American Vista Cruiser right before winter and look forward to getting it out of storage next month. I will take my little dog Henry and off we will go in my writer’s cabin on wheels!

Not that you’ve asked, but I say just let the house go and don’t hold out trying to get anything other than hopefully your mortgage paid off. The freedom in your soul that you will feel will be worth it. I have a gorgeous lot in a small harbor town (where I used to have a house that I lost in a divorce). Just this week I listed so have gone through a similar angst. I finally let it go and made peace with myself knowing that while there is a significant amount of money that I won’t ever get back, this money bought me a great deal. The four years of payments let me stay connected to a small town I love and my best friend and Lake Michigan. I had planned to sell my main home and build on the lot, but plans have changed and I am staying in my main house. So now it’s time to let that dream go so I can move closer to financial independence. I can always go stay in the town, walk the shores of my beloved Lake Michigan–no one can take that away from me ever! And I have my little writer’s cabin-on-wheels to stay in. Pretty darn nice.

The best to you Jennifer! Enjoy your new motorhome! She’s is so lovely!

Whooo hooo!!!!! Way to go Jennifer! I’ve been wondering what you have been up to and this is a fun suprise to see. I am so envious of you right now but I know our time will come…We are still shooting for this fall. So…give us some more details-what’s the length of your ‘lil rig? Any chance you’ll put up some pix? How is selling the house going? How is class going?

Seriously though – it’s wonderful to see you post again and see you taking another step to your dream. :)
